A1 plans can be produced as single leaves or be bound into a book (usually in landscape format).

Plans

If they are to be bound this is done using a ‘stab stitching’ method whereby strong staples are punched through the binding edge from the front, the staples are then covered using a cloth tape which wraps around the spine from the front cover to the back cover creating a neat and tidy finish. The text pages are usually produced on 100gsm uncoated material and the covers are usually a heavier, coated material. Maximum text pages would be around 80 leaves in a bound document and these are usually printed on one side only)
