In June 2007 SPM were awarded ISO14001 certification, which is the highest environmental accreditation available and recognised worldwide. This accreditation involves implementing a continuous improvement program, which ensures that a company improves it’s environmental performance year on year.
In July 2007 we were awarded FSC accreditation, this means that we can use FSC certified papers and be part of a ‘chain of custody’ which means we can trace the paper source right back to the forest that it came from. We can then guarantee that the material has been sourced from a managed forest that replaces trees as they are used.
In December 2010 we achieved Carbon Neutral Company status, which means we have reduced our carbon footprint to such an extent that we now offset the remainder by investing in worldwide carbon reduction projects and we can now produce Carbon Neutral Publications.
In January 2013 we were awarded the Carbon Smart silver certificate, this involves having our carbon footprint measured to show that we have reduced it over the previous two years and putting systems in place to reduce it further over the coming years.
